The ABE in ABE Software the acronym stands for Accounting Bookeeping Executive.
A little
history if you can stand it... I started working at the local Hardware store as a Senior in High School. I worked
part time all through college and graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1972. I left the Hardware to pursue
my career and decided I didn't like the politics involved in working for a company. So, I went back to the Hardware
a year later and worked out an agreement with the owners. My wife, Kathy, and I purchased the store in 1979.
I always loved computers and programming so in 1986 I started writing the accounting software that we still use
today. It was called "ABE".
I started to love programming so much that I decided to program full time and Kathy was ready to run the Hardware so I left the store and wrote software for the next 10 years. Things change, and I came back to the Hardware. Once there I soon wanted to move to a computerized POS with inventory control. I found RockSolid POS® and instantly fell in love. It wasn't long though before I was digging into the database and extending what it would do. Hence, many of the routines you see in Profit Manager are the result of that effort.
As I became aware that Do it Best was going to discontinue IMCS I started looking for the best replacement.
Margin Master is a great piece of software, but I was so familiar with the RockSolid POS's® database and structure that I believed
I could provide more. That is how Profit Manager was born...
